First piece of advice:

He who pleads not guilty today has a clean license for another day.

NEVER NEVER  NEVER plead guilty to a moving traffic violation. I know that it is tempting, but just don't go there. I have had many people come to me and ask that I defend them on second or third speeding ticket and invariably when I ask them what they did with their previous ticket(s), they  inform me that they simply "mailed it in" with a plea of guilty.

In some courts it is possible to negotiate a lower charge, in other courts, one must either go to trial or plead guilty. But no matter what court the tickets are returnable to, the thing to do with it is to enter a plea of not guilty.

Word to the wise, there are various procedures and time periods that may enable a traffic ticket to be totally dismissed without a plea of guilty to anything and without a trial. Unfortunately, unless the law is followed to the letter, you will not be able to take advantage of these laws and procedures. This is where the experience and skills of an attorney who is familiar with the defense of traffic matters comes into play.

I would be glad to discuss your particular situation either by telephone or in person in one of my offices. Whatever you do with a ticket,
do something, for in many jurisdictions the courts are now able to find you guilty automatically if you do not answer the ticket. Often  when such a "default conviction" is imposed, the Court also imposes the maximum fine.

NEVER NEVER  NEVER plead guilty to a moving traffic violation.  I know that it is tempting, but just don't go there.
